Johor Bahru

Johor Bahru, Malaysia's southernmost city, sits just across the Causeway and the Second Link from Singapore, and its international schools serve both local expatriate families and Singapore-based families looking for lower fees, more space or a boarding option within easy reach of home. Several schools are in Iskandar Puteri, the planned city on the western side of Johor Bahru within the Iskandar Malaysia development zone, close to the Second Link at Tuas. Others are in the Setia Eco Gardens township in the south-west and in Ulu Tiram to the north-east of the city centre. Families can choose between a British education leading to the IB Diploma, Cambridge IGCSE and A Levels, an American curriculum with Advanced Placement courses, and a British stream to IGCSE alongside the Malaysian national curriculum. Two schools take boarders, and fees are generally well below those of comparable schools in Singapore.
