Raffles American School (RAS)

Raffles American School (RAS) is an American international school in Iskandar Puteri, in the Iskandar Malaysia development zone on the western side of Johor Bahru. It teaches an American curriculum from Pre-K through to Grade 12, with Advanced Placement (AP) courses in high school and English language support for students who are not yet fluent in English.

RAS is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and is a member of the College Board, EARCOS, The Association of Boarding Schools (TABS) and the Association of Boarding Schools in Asia (ABSA). Unusually for an American school in the region, it offers boarding as well as day places, which makes it an option for families based elsewhere in Malaysia or in Singapore who want a US-style education with residential care.

The purpose-built campus includes a competition swimming pool, sports courts and dedicated boarding houses. For Singapore-based families, the school sits within reach of the Second Link crossing, and Johor fees are generally well below those of American schools in Singapore.
