What We List

Our inclusion policy: international schools for primary, secondary and sixth form pupils.

internationalschools.asia lists international schools that teach primary, secondary and sixth form pupils. We do not list standalone preschools, kindergartens or nurseries.

Why we focus on primary, secondary and sixth form

Choosing a primary or secondary school is one of the biggest decisions a relocating family makes. It shapes where you live, what you pay and which universities your child can reach.

Early-years settings matter too, but most families choose them locally, close to home. A directory crowded with nurseries makes the schools that matter harder to find.

What qualifies

A school appears here when it:

  • teaches pupils of primary age (about 5–11), secondary age (11–16) or sixth form age (16–18), or any combination of these
  • offers a recognised international curriculum or qualification, such as the IB, Cambridge (IGCSE, A Level), the English National Curriculum, an American high school diploma or AP, the Australian curriculum, or the national curriculum of another country taught abroad
  • teaches mainly in English, or in the language of the country whose curriculum it follows

What we leave out

  • Standalone preschools, kindergartens, playgroups and day nurseries
  • Tutoring and learning centres
  • Local schools that teach some lessons in English but do not lead to an international qualification

Through-schools

Many schools run from nursery to Year 13. We list them in full and note their early-years provision on the profile, but we describe and compare them on their primary, secondary and sixth form offer.

Stage names

We use UK-style stage names (Primary, Secondary, Sixth Form) across the site. Where a school follows the American system, we show grades alongside, for example Secondary (Grades 6–10).
