Waseda Shibuya Senior High School in Singapore opened in 1991 as an overseas campus of the Shibuya Makuhari school group and became a Waseda University affiliated school in 2002. The campus at 57 West Coast Road, near Clementi and the National University of Singapore, has an air-conditioned classroom block with science and art rooms and a traditional Japanese-style room, a rooftop observatory, a combined library and learning centre, an open-sided sports hall, a swimming pool, a sports ground and a student hall that seats up to 500.
It is a Japanese high school recognised by Japan's Ministry of Education. Students follow the same three-year curriculum as a high school in Japan, with extra English, small-group conversation classes and international programmes that make use of the Singapore setting. Each year group has about 100 students. A large share of graduates go on to Waseda University through the school's internal recommendation quota, and others take designated-school places at Japanese and overseas universities.
An on-campus boarding house with single rooms and three meals a day serves students whose families live outside Singapore, including, since 2025, students whose parents are in Japan. For students entering in 2026, first-year school fees including GST total about S$38,000 (including the entrance fee), and later years cost about S$31,600. Boarding adds about S$17,700 a year. Eligible Japanese students can receive Japanese government tuition support, and the school runs its own scholarships.
