Sir Manasseh Meyer International School (SMMIS) began in 1996 as the Ganenu Learning Centre. It is named after the 19th-century Singapore philanthropist Sir Manasseh Meyer and runs as a not-for-profit school. It moved several times before settling in 2016 on a purpose-built campus at Jalan Ulu Sembawang in the north of the island. The school has a Jewish ethos, including Hebrew and Jewish studies, and takes students of all backgrounds. It reports more than 30 nationalities.
Preschool follows a Reggio Emilia-inspired approach. Primary years use the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) with English National Curriculum literacy and Singapore Maths. Middle years use the International Middle Years Curriculum (IMYC), and Grades 9-10 prepare for Cambridge IGCSEs. The school has extended to Grades 11-12 with an A Level programme. Mandarin and Hebrew are taught, and the school puts weight on community service (tikkun olam) and co-curricular activities.
The school is deliberately small, with around 500 students reported, and keeps class sizes small. The campus has a swimming pool used for timetabled swimming lessons, a library, makerspace and STEAM facilities, and dining areas. Tuition fees for 2026-27 include hot meals, snacks and swimming. They run from about S$19,200 in Nursery to S$30,600 for Grades 6-10 and S$32,000 for Grades 11-12. The school holds EduTrust certification.
