Astor International School was founded in 2019 by entrepreneur Elena Holloway as a lower-cost, flexible option for expatriate families at primary level. The school is single-stream and takes children aged 5 to 12 (Years 1-7). Classes are capped at 20, and the school reports an average of about 15. Its current campus on Kay Siang Road, just off Tanglin Road, has room for around 130 students.
Teaching combines the International Primary Curriculum (IPC), used under licence from Fieldwork Education, with British-based English and Singapore Maths. Lessons are enquiry-led and hands-on, and tablets are introduced gradually for older pupils. The core academic day ends at 1:30pm. Families can then add enrichment classes until 3pm in art, music, drama, sport and several foreign languages. English as a second language (ESL) and learning support are available for an extra fee.
Fees for 2026-27 are about S$17,580 a year on the flexible plan or S$23,650 with daily enrichment included, and no fees are charged over the summer break. The campus has bright classrooms, two outdoor play areas including a fenced playground, a patch of jungle used for outdoor learning, and a combined activity room and library. The school reports more than 30 nationalities. It has announced a move to a new campus in Bukit Timah from January 2027, with an expanded age range.
