ACS (International) opened in January 2005 as an independent, privately funded school within Singapore's Anglo-Chinese School family, which has Methodist roots. Its campus is at 61 Jalan Hitam Manis, a quiet road off Holland Road between Holland Village and Bukit Timah. It took over an older school site, which has since been renovated and extended. Facilities include a heritage foyer, music practice rooms, a 550-seat canteen with a student centre, and sports fields.
This is a secondary-only school. Students usually join in Year 1 (around age 12–13), and roughly half are Singaporean while the rest are international. Years 1 and 2 are general courses, with a bridging stream for students who need intensive English. Years 3 and 4 lead to Cambridge IGCSE examinations, and students then take the two-year IB Diploma in Years 5 and 6. Pre-IB and Foundation IB routes are available for students joining at that stage. Every student studies a mother tongue or foreign language.
International students who live in Singapore without their parents must board at Oldham Hall or the ACS (Independent) boarding school. The school publishes a single fee schedule for local and international students. For 2027, tuition is S$15,805 per semester (S$31,610 a year) in Years 1–4, S$17,985 per semester in Foundation/Pre-IB and S$20,710 in Year 5. New students also pay registration fees, a development fund contribution and a deposit. Scholarships are offered.
