Prince of Wales Island International School (POWIIS)

Unclaimed
A British-curriculum day and boarding school in Penang with two campuses, taking children from age 3 at Tanjung Bungah through to IGCSE and A Levels at Balik Pulau.
Prince of Wales Island International School (POWIIS)

Prince of Wales Island International School (POWIIS) is one of Penang's established British international schools, run by MTT Learning Academy. It operates two campuses: POWIIS Tanjung Bungah on the island's north coast for children aged 3 to 13, and the secondary and boarding school in Balik Pulau, on the quieter west side of the island, for students aged 11 to 19.

Together the two schools provide a continuous British-style pathway from Early Years to university entrance. Primary and middle-school pupils follow a British curriculum, while secondary students take Cambridge IGCSEs in Years 10 and 11 and A Levels in the Sixth Form. A university and careers counsellor supports students through their applications. The Tanjung Bungah campus is accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS), and both campuses are members of FOBISIA.

The Balik Pulau campus offers a range of boarding options, which makes POWIIS one of the few Penang schools that can take boarders. Each student also takes part in the POWIIS Project, the school's community and global-citizenship programme. Contact the relevant campus admissions team for current day and boarding fees.
