Surabaya Intercultural School (SIS)

Surabaya Intercultural School (SIS) has served Surabaya's expatriate and international community since 1971, making it the longest-established international school in East Java. The school now occupies a purpose-built campus in the Citraraya International Village in Citraland, West Surabaya, and takes children from early childhood (from around 18 months) through to Grade 12.

Elementary pupils follow the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme alongside US standards, while the middle and high school follow an American model, with Advanced Placement courses including the AP Capstone programme. SIS is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), and its graduates move on to universities in the US, UK, Australia and across Asia.

SIS is small by international-school standards, with students from more than 25 nationalities and an average class size of around ten, so teachers know each child well. The campus includes three science laboratories, a computer lab and sports facilities. Contact the school directly for current fees.
