Sekolah Ciputra opened in 1996 on a five-hectare campus in CitraLand, west Surabaya, and has grown into one of East Java's largest international schools, with around 1,330 students from some 30 nationalities in the 2026–27 school year. It takes children from Play Group and Kindergarten through Primary, Junior High and Senior High to Grade 12.
The school describes itself as one of the world's first IB Continuum schools. It was authorised for the IB Primary Years Programme and Middle Years Programme in 2004 and the IB Diploma Programme in 2005, and was reauthorised by the IB in 2025. It is also fully accredited by WASC from Kindergarten to Grade 12, holds Indonesian SPK status and is a member of EARCOS. Most diploma students graduate with the IB Bilingual Diploma, reflecting the school's English-medium teaching alongside Indonesian.
Facilities include the 710-seat Ciputra Hall performing arts centre, a swimming pool, sports halls, a library and robotics and science labs. In keeping with its founder, Pak Ciputra, the school runs a distinctive entrepreneurship programme, and it has long hosted the World Scholar's Cup. Junior and Senior High scholarships are offered; contact the admissions team for current fees and availability.
