Sekolah Dyatmika (Dyatmika School) first opened its doors in 1995. It was founded by Indonesian and international parents and is still run on a not-for-profit basis by a volunteer parent foundation, the Yayasan Dyatmika Sekar Bawana. Its single campus in Kesiman Kertalangu, east Denpasar, close to Sanur, looks out over rice fields towards the Indian Ocean and has a swimming pool, science labs and a community garden.
The school takes children from Playgroup (age 3) through kindergarten and Primary Prep to Class 12. It is a recognised Cambridge school and examination centre: students follow a Cambridge programme from Primary Prep, sit IGCSEs in Classes 9 and 10, and AS and A Levels in Classes 11 and 12. As an SPK school it also teaches the Indonesian national curriculum, so Indonesian and dual-national students can graduate with both national and Cambridge results.
Early Years and Primary are taught bilingually in English and Indonesian, and High School is taught in English. The student body is roughly half Indonesian, with the rest mixed-heritage and international families from over 30 nationalities, which gives Dyatmika a strong local character. Students can take the Duke of Edinburgh's International Award. Contact the school for current fees and places.
