Montessori School Bali was founded in Seminyak in 1998 by Nattalia Sinclaire and I Made Wiranatha, starting with a single preschool class. Lower Primary followed in 2005 and an Adolescent Programme in 2012. In 2017 the school moved to a purpose-built campus in Berawa, between Canggu and Seminyak, with classrooms inspired by Balinese pavilions, large covered verandahs and room for up to 280 students.
The school is affiliated with the Association Montessori Internationale (AMI), and all lead teachers are AMI-trained. Programmes run in three-year age cycles: infant and toddler groups, Children's House for ages 3–6, Lower Primary (6–9), Upper Primary (9–12) and an Adolescent programme for 12–15-year-olds. The adolescents alternate humanities and science work and run their own coffee micro-business. The school describes itself as Indonesian-accredited.
Primary classes have 20–30 children across the three-year age span, while toddler and adolescent groups are smaller. The school year runs August to June, and the day runs 8:30am to 3pm. Fees are not published; contact the school for current figures.
