Gandhi Memorial Intercontinental School (GMIS), known until recently as Gandhi Memorial International School, opened in Bali in 2007. It is part of the Gandhi Memorial group, which also runs a school in Jakarta. The campus is on Jalan Tukad Yeh Penet in Renon, central Denpasar, within easy reach of Sanur, Kuta and Jimbaran, and has a large sports hall, an indoor swimming pool, a preschool play area and computer labs.
GMIS is an IB World School. Children start in Nursery at age three, then move through the IB Primary Years Programme (Grades 1–5) and Middle Years Programme (Grades 6–10). In Grades 9 and 10 students can also sit Cambridge IGCSE exams, and in Grades 11 and 12 they choose between the IB Diploma and the IB Career-related Programme. Alongside these, the school offers Indian board pathways (Matriculation and Higher Secondary) and prepares students for Indonesian national examinations. English is the language of instruction throughout.
With close to 500 students from more than 30 countries, the school is secular and positions itself as a lower-cost route to an IB education in Bali. Published 2026–27 fees run from about IDR 76 million a year in preschool to IDR 177 million in Grades 11–12, with sibling discounts; bus transport is extra. Contact the school to confirm current fees and arrange a visit.
