The Australian Independent School (AIS) Indonesia was founded in 1996 and runs campuses in Jakarta and Bali. The Bali school moved to its purpose-built, green-designed campus on Jalan Imam Bonjol in Denpasar Barat in 2018, and new High School buildings were opened by Indonesia's Education Minister in February 2026. They added a STEAM hub, two science labs and large glass-walled classrooms, lifting capacity to around 650 students; about 340 attend now.
Children start in Early Years at age three and follow the Australian Curriculum to Year 10, with students taking part in Australia's NAPLAN assessments. In Years 11 and 12 they choose between the IB Diploma Programme, which the Bali campus has been authorised to teach since 2018, and the AIS Senior Certificate. AIS is accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS) and is licensed as an SPK school, so Indonesian studies and religious education are also taught. The school year follows the southern-hemisphere calendar, running January to December.
The school offers EAL support, a separate Learning Support programme and a school bus. Published 2026 tuition runs from about IDR 76 million a year in Early Years to IDR 191 million in Years 11–12, plus annual capital and materials levies.
