Pan-Asia International School (PAIS) opened in 2004 in the Dok Mai area of Prawet, east Bangkok, off Chaloem Phrakiat Rama 9 Road. It was founded by the Social Welfare Society, a Thai non-profit, under the motto "Western Curriculum, Eastern Culture". The school has about 700 students from more than 30 nationalities on a quiet suburban campus.
Pre-school, kindergarten and primary follow a US-based curriculum. From Grade 6, students move into the IB Middle Years Programme, which runs to Grade 10, and then the IB Diploma Programme in Grades 11 and 12. PAIS has offered the Diploma since 2010. Admission is by English assessment and interview, and students can join during the year when seats are free.
