Berkeley International School opened in 2010 on Debaratna Road in Bang Na, about 800 metres from Sukhumvit Road. Its 5-hectare campus is easy to spot thanks to its clock tower. The school has about 400 students from more than 35 nationalities. It became fully WASC accredited in 2014 and had its first graduating class in 2017.
Berkeley follows an American college-preparatory curriculum from Pre-K and Kindergarten through Elementary, Middle and High School. Students work towards a US-style high school diploma, with Advanced Placement courses and electives such as computer science, psychology, design and technology, Mandarin, Spanish and Thai. A college counselling team helps with university applications, and the school is an authorised centre for the SAT and AP exams. Berkeley is a member of EARCOS and ISAT.
Facilities include three saltwater pools (an Olympic-size 50 m pool, a 25 m pool and a learner pool), a gymnasium, three covered tennis courts, several football pitches, a 450-seat theatre, a library and a school garden with animals.
