Bangkok Christian International School (BCIS) opened in August 1997 with 34 students. It was set up by Korean missionaries to give missionary, pastors' and local families an affordable Christian international education. It is run by a non-profit foundation. The elementary and high school campus is on Pattanakarn Soi 44 in Suan Luang, east Bangkok. Kindergarten (K1 to K3) is taught at a separate site, Bangkok International Christian Nursery (BICN), which moved into a new purpose-built building on Motorway Soi 5 in Saphan Sung in August 2025. The school has about 540 students from more than a dozen countries, with Thai and Korean families especially well represented.
BCIS follows an American curriculum from kindergarten to Grade 12. High-school students can take Advanced Placement (AP) courses, and the school prepares students for the SAT. Christian faith is part of daily school life, through chapel, Bible classes and community service. Newly admitted students with limited English can join an English as a Foreign Language programme. The school is accredited by Cognia (NCA CASI, SACS CASI and NWAC), as well as by ONESQA and the Thai Ministry of Education. It is affiliated with ACSI and is a member of ISAT and TISAC, where its teams play basketball and other sports. Discounts are offered to siblings and to Thai government officers, and a scholarship fund supports pastors' and missionaries' children.
The Pattanakarn campus is compact, with a multi-storey teaching building, a covered sports court and an outdoor play area. The school has launched a fundraising plan, 'The Next Chapter', to buy land and build a larger new campus. Fees are low by Bangkok international-school standards. For 2026–27, the total charged per semester (two semesters a year) is about THB 134,000 for K1–K2, THB 127,650 for Grades 1–2, THB 163,250 for Grades 7–8 and THB 171,250 for Grade 12. These totals include general, activity and technology fees, plus lunch in the lower grades. New students also pay a one-time admission fee of THB 120,000–140,000.
