International School Bangkok (ISB) opened in 1951 on the grounds of the US Embassy and is generally recognised as Thailand's first international school. After spells on Sukhumvit Soi 15 and in Bang Sue, it moved in 1992 to a purpose-built campus inside the Nichada Thani estate in Pak Kret, Nonthaburi, just north of the Bangkok city limit. It is an independent, not-for-profit school governed by a parent-elected Board of Trustees.
ISB teaches an American-style curriculum from Pre-Kindergarten (age 3) to Grade 12. In high school, students can take the full IB Diploma, individual IB courses, Advanced Placement (AP) courses or a mix, alongside the ISB high school diploma. The school is accredited by WASC and CIS, is an IB World School, and competes in the IASAS and EARCOS networks. It also runs an Environmental Wilderness Campus in Phetchaburi province for outdoor learning.
About 1,700 students from more than 60 nationalities attend, and many families live in Nichada Thani itself. For 2026/27, annual tuition is about THB 1.0 million in Elementary, THB 1.14 million in Middle School and THB 1.2 million in High School, plus a one-off registration fee of THB 260,000.
