Ruamrudee International School (RIS) was founded in 1957 by Redemptorist priests at Holy Redeemer Church in central Bangkok. It is a non-profit Catholic school, and its Thai name means 'union of hearts'. In the early 1990s it moved to a 14-acre campus at Ramkhamhaeng 184 in Min Buri, eastern Bangkok. RIS also runs an Early Years campus off Phraya Suren Road, a second K–12 campus at Ratchapruek in Nonthaburi (opened 2019) and an early-years campus in Phuket. The German-speaking RIS Swiss Section also operates on the Min Buri campus.
The Min Buri campus takes students from Pre-K through Grade 12 and has about 1,400 students. It follows an American college-preparatory curriculum leading to a US-style high school diploma. Seniors can also take Advanced Placement courses or the IB Diploma Programme, which RIS has offered since 1998. RIS is accredited by WASC and is a member of EARCOS. As a Catholic school, it holds a monthly Mass and includes religion courses in middle and high school. Boarding is available for students in Grades 7–12.
Facilities include a FIFA-certified artificial-turf football pitch, a 50-metre Olympic-size pool and a second pool, several gymnasiums, a performing arts centre, two libraries with more than 100,000 resources, an art gallery and science and computer laboratories. Annual tuition is about THB 716,000 for Grades 6–11 and THB 786,000 for Grade 12, with lower rates in the younger grades.
