NIST International School opened in August 1992 with the backing of members of the United Nations community, as a school not tied to any single national curriculum. It is a not-for-profit school overseen by the NIST International School Foundation, and its campus sits at the end of Sukhumvit Soi 15, a short walk from Asok BTS and Sukhumvit MRT stations.
NIST teaches the International Baccalaureate throughout: the Primary Years Programme from Early Years, the Middle Years Programme for ages 11 to 16 and the IB Diploma Programme in Years 12 and 13, where students can take the full Diploma or individual courses. It became the first school in Thailand to offer all three IB programmes in 1999, and is accredited by CIS, NEASC and Thailand's ONESQA.
The school has more than 1,800 students from over 75 nationalities on a compact 25-rai urban campus that has been substantially rebuilt in recent years. For 2026/27, annual tuition runs from about THB 650,000 in Early Years to THB 1.13 million in Years 12 and 13, plus a one-off registration fee and a campus development fee.
