KIS International School opened in 1998 as Kesinee International School, offering kindergarten and primary education. It took the name KIS in 2003, when it added a secondary school. Its original campus is on Pracha Uthit Road in Samsen Nok, Huai Khwang district, close to Ratchada and central Bangkok. The school also runs a second campus, KIS Reignwood Park, in Lam Luk Ka, Pathum Thani, which takes day and boarding students.
KIS teaches only International Baccalaureate programmes. Early Years Prep (ages 2–3) leads into the Primary Years Programme (ages 3–11), followed by the Middle Years Programme (ages 11–16). In the final two years, students choose either the IB Diploma Programme or the IB Career-related Programme. KIS is an authorised IB World School and is accredited by the Council of International Schools. It is a member of ISAT, EARCOS and other regional associations. The two campuses have about 1,000 students between them from more than 50 nationalities, and the Bangkok campus has a low student-to-teacher ratio.
The Bangkok campus is a day school with separate primary and secondary buildings. For the current year, tuition is THB 725,500 a year in Grades 1–5 and THB 859,700 in Grades 6–10. Grade 11 costs THB 944,600, and that rate is held for both Diploma years. New students also pay application and enrolment fees.
