Alice Smith School is Malaysia's oldest British international school, founded in 1946 and named after Alice Smith, the wife of a British colonial official who established the school to educate the children of the British expatriate community in post-war Kuala Lumpur. Today, Alice Smith is one of KL's most prestigious international schools, with two campuses — the Primary campus in Jalan Bellamy near the city centre, and the Secondary campus in Jalan Peel, Ampang — serving around 1,600 students from over 50 nationalities.
Alice Smith follows the English National Curriculum throughout, with IGCSE at Key Stage 4 and A-Levels in the Sixth Form. Academic results are consistently among the strongest in Malaysia — the school regularly achieves outstanding IGCSE and A-Level outcomes and sends graduates to Russell Group universities in the UK, as well as leading institutions in the USA, Canada, and Australia. Alice Smith is accredited by CIS and is a COBIS-member school.
The school has a long and distinguished history at the heart of KL's British expatriate community, though it has become significantly more internationally diverse in recent decades. The Jalan Bellamy Primary campus is conveniently located near the KLCC corridor, while the Secondary Ampang campus is in the heart of KL's diplomatic and expat residential district, making it a natural hub for the children of embassy families and multinational executives.
