Bangkok has one of the biggest choices of international schools in Asia. There are British schools linked to famous UK names, long-established American and IB schools, Singapore-system schools, and national schools for French, Swiss-German, Japanese, Korean and Indian families. Fees range from under THB 200,000 a year to more than THB 1.2 million.
There is no single best international school in Bangkok. The right school depends on your child, the curriculum you want, your budget and, above all in this city, where you live. So this guide does not rank schools. It lists all 59 schools in our Bangkok directory by area, in alphabetical order, with each school's curriculum and its published annual tuition, so you can build your own shortlist.
Fees are annual tuition in Thai baht, from the youngest to the oldest year group the school teaches, rounded where the school's own figures are rounded. They come from the schools' published fee schedules and our school listings, checked in October 2026. One-off fees, meals, buses and boarding are extra unless we say otherwise.
These figures are based on the best publicly available information we could find at the time of writing. Schools change their fees and policies, and errors are possible, so always confirm current fees directly with the school before you apply.
How to choose an international school in Bangkok
- Start with where you will live. Bangkok traffic turns a 10 km school run into an hour or more at peak times. Most families pick an area first and then compare the schools within reach, which is why this guide is organised by area.
- Choose the curriculum. British schools teach towards IGCSEs and A Levels or the IB Diploma; American schools offer a US high school diploma, usually with AP courses; IB schools follow the IB from early years to the Diploma. If you may move country again, think about which system your child can continue elsewhere.
- Price the whole journey. Fees rise with age, and at many schools the senior years cost 50 per cent or more than the early years. Look at the fee for the year your child will finish in, not just the year they join.
- Check accreditation and licensing. Every international school in Thailand must be licensed by the Office of the Private Education Commission. Most of the schools here are also accredited by bodies such as CIS, WASC, NEASC or British Schools Overseas, or by Thailand's ONESQA.
- Visit. Campus size, class sizes, the mix of nationalities and how much Thai and Mandarin is taught vary a great deal, and are easier to judge in person.

The extra costs on top of tuition
Tuition is only part of the bill, especially in the first year. Expect some or all of these:
- Application or assessment fee: usually THB 4,000 to 6,500.
- Registration, enrolment or admission fee: paid once when you accept a place, and often the biggest surprise. Examples: Australian International School THB 90,000, Charter THB 100,000, Patana THB 250,000, ISB THB 260,000 and SPGS THB 265,000. Some schools discount this fee in quiet years.
- Refundable deposit: commonly THB 100,000 to 200,000, returned when your child leaves.
- Meals, buses, books and trips: lunch alone is often THB 30,000 to 45,000 a year. A few schools include meals and books in their fees, which makes them look more expensive than they are.
- Boarding: offered at schools including Harrow International School Bangkok, Bromsgrove International School Thailand, Regent's International School Bangkok, Traill International School, Canadian International School of Thailand, The American School of Bangkok Green Valley, Wycombe Abbey International School Bangkok, KIS International School – Reignwood Park, Ruamrudee International School. It adds roughly THB 80,000 to 550,000 a year depending on the school and whether boarding is weekly or full.
For the first year, a sensible rule is to add 15 to 30 per cent to the tuition figure. If your employer is paying, check which of these costs your package covers.

Frequently asked questions
What is the best international school in Bangkok?
There is no single best school. Bangkok has more than a hundred licensed international schools teaching British, American, IB, Singapore and other national curricula, and the right one depends on your child, the curriculum you want, your budget and where you live. Start with schools within a reasonable commute, then compare curriculum, fees and accreditation, and visit before you decide.
How much are international school fees in Bangkok?
Annual tuition ranges from under THB 200,000 at the lowest-cost community and national schools to more than THB 1.2 million in the senior years at the most expensive. Most mainstream British, American and IB schools charge between about THB 450,000 and THB 1 million depending on the year group.
Which international schools in Bangkok have the lowest fees?
Among the schools we list, Ekamai International School, Global Indian International School, Glory Singapore International School, Raffles American School, TSI International School and Bangkok Christian International School have some of the lowest published fees, at roughly THB 170,000 to 350,000 a year.
Which Bangkok international schools offer the IB Diploma?
KIS International School (both campuses), NIST, Ascot and Concordian teach the IB throughout, and Pan-Asia uses it from Grade 6. Bangkok Patana, St Andrews Bangkok, St Andrews Sukhumvit 107 and Regent's follow a British curriculum to IGCSE and then the IB Diploma. Several American schools, including ISB, Ruamrudee, Wells, Raffles and the American School of Bangkok Green Valley, also offer it.
Are there boarding schools in Bangkok?
Yes. Harrow, Bromsgrove, Regent's, Traill, Wycombe Abbey, KIS Reignwood Park, Ruamrudee, the Canadian International School of Thailand and the American School of Bangkok Green Valley all offer boarding, usually for older students.
